REIKI

Reiki is a gentle and relaxing form of energy healing that works with the body’s chakras/energy centres. There are 7 main chakras and each has its own frequency/vibration, emotional signature and corresponding systems and organs in the body.

 

The human body and its cells emit a bio-energetic frequency and has a natural flow of energy known as chi/qi. When this energy is flowing freely and abundantly, individuals will experience health, balance, vitality and alignment on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.

 

When an individual experiences stress/trauma/negative emotions/thought patterns, the body’s computer chip like cells hold a memory of it. When this happens, it can create a glitch in your energy field, resulting in an energy flow/chakra blockage. Blockages create stagnant/slow moving energy and if left untreated, the corresponding system (i.e: endocrine/circulatory/nervous) will be affected and the body will become unbalanced. Low energy levels, fatigue, illness and eventually disease in the corresponding organ could result.

 

Reiki healing energy is channelled through the practitioner by placing their hands on each chakra or areas which they are drawn to on the client’s body. Reiki helps to break up energy blockages within the body’s energy field, allowing healing energy to flow again freely and stimulating the body’s natural ability to heal itself on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.

Each person’s experience will vary individually and each time you have it done. Some common sensations are:

 

  • Heat

  • Tingling

  • “Electrical currents”

  • Body twitches

  • Stomach rumbling/releasing

  • Deep relaxation and altered states of consciousness

  • Visual experiences such as colours and images

  • Short pains (these are a good sign, indicating that healing is taking place)


WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A REIKI SESSION?


Over the following few days, the healing process often continues and you may feel revitalised and notice the benefits right away. Most clients express feeling “lighter” and clearer. Occasionally, you may notice that you are detoxifying the waste that has built up in your system and may experience symptoms such as:

 

  • Mood swings/emotions coming up

  • Headaches

  • Cold like symptoms

  • Fatigue

  • Diarrhoea

The above stated symptoms are merely related to the fact that the Reiki session has stimulated your immune system to start the healing process. It is very rare that they turn into anything serious and normally last for a day or two before naturally subsiding. It is very important to increase water intake as soon as the Reiki session is complete and for the next few days. This will help flush the toxins out of the body and speed up the healing/cleansing process. The best way to manage any symptoms is to listen to your body. That may include a nap/extra sleep, time in sunshine/nature, or some peace and quiet.
